The African fisheagle is a large bird with the larger females having wingspans up to 2.4m. These birds mate for life and often maintain two or more nests which they can reuse and build on. Over the 20 years of a fisheagle's life, their nests can become very large, some reaching up to 2m across and 1.2 m deep.
